Special Events:

Justin Lane spoke to CW Porter’s Office today and told them about the issues with Special
Events. CW Porter represents the portion of SBNA south of Fort Ave.

Tara McNulty: DOT doesn’t tell residents until event already approved - specifically around bar
crawls

Cinco: No Lindy (Wayward & Bull Lasinski)

They also don’t like the current permit process.

Federal Hill Main Street, Federal Hill Neighborhood Association, Federal Hill South

Public Safety updates.

Constituency / 311: Please send my office 311 requests. My predecessor left a legacy of strong
constituent services, which I intend to continue.

Economic Vitalization: potential new grocery store tenant.

School Boards & Arts Access in the Schools:
Parking:

Mike gives overview of the parking zones
Dues:
●
Dues have not been raised in many years despite inflation. Many other organizations charge
more for membership dues per year.

Motion: Raise dues from $10/person/year to $20/person/year, effective March 1, 2025.

Residential Permit Parking:
●
Area 30 covers most of SBNA (not Light St). We are trying to opt out of the City’s switch to digital
permits.
Public Safety:
●
FHNA has formed a coordinated group to discuss public safety on the Peninsula. A few SBNA
representatives participate in that - Clausen, Tara, and Ryan.
Liquor Board:
●
Mother’s to open as Liv’s Tavern (new concept).
311 & Pedestrian Safety:
●
Please report parking enforcement and faded signage issues.
●
Jonathan Deprosse speaks about stolen signs.
●
Jonathan has knocked doors to request support of traffic calming at Ostend & Charles. He has he
has

of the signatures needed to request a letter. You need 10 individual requests for each?
●
Tara mentions that both Sheriff Cogen and CM Blanchard are interested in coordinating on traffic
calming.
●
Jonathan says that the Director of Transportation, Councilman Blanchard, etc., will be at FHNA
next week. CM Blanchard will make sure that we get a budget for ADA. A percentage of that’s a
subsidy.
Clean & Green:

Dumpster Day in the planning stage for late April (the 19th is discussed).
